EFT - Emotional Freedom Techniques London Therapists

Updated on June 19, 2014

EFT - The Acupuncture Energy Technique Without Needles

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) or "tapping" as EFT is often called, is based on the chinese acupuncture system.

EFT involves tapping on acupuncture points whilst thinking about an issue that bothers you.

So far it has helped people with many issues including emotional and physical pain, confidence, weight control and fears and phobias to name a few.

EFT seems to be able to make a positive dfference to almost any life issue, ailment or challenge.

The Most Important Thing

You don't need to believe in EFt for it to help you!

Emotional Freedom Techniques - Why does it work?

Tapping away your blocks to living fully

I suppose that is the big question, "Why does EFT work"?

Here are some possible answers:-

1) It's the placebo effect. The fact you are doing something towards feeling better and that someone has convinced you that this will help you can be enough for the placebo effect to have a positive effect on your life.

2) It just like counselling. If part of counsellings effectiveness is providing an safe environment in order to talk about your issue, than EFT, if might be said, does the same.

3) The principles of acupuncture apply. EFT uses the same points on the body that acupuncture does. Therefore what applies to acupuncture as the reason for its effectiveness also applies to EFT.

4) The Unknown. This is a kind of "catchall". Maybe we just don't know the real reasons why EFT helps. The fact is that it just does.

I hope these thoughts have helped answer some of your questions about EFT.
